Our last 6-week intensive intro to video game development with godot left a waiting list of others behind who wanted in. We are opening up a section for a new small cohort.

Are you interested in video games, programming, or creating virtual experiences? Take your skills to the next level with this beginner Godot course! Learn the fundamentals of game design, the ins and outs of the Godot game engine, and create your own video game in the process.

What is Godot

Godot is a free game engine that enables you to create any 2D or 3D experience you can dream up. It’s an all in one tool for building games for many different platforms such as desktop, mobile, and the web. Godot is friendly to beginners, and gives you the power to make amazing things.

What will I gain from this Course?

In this course, you will learn how to use the Godot development environment, Godot nodes and scenes, programming with the GDScript language, and how to design a video game. By the end, you will have all the tools you’ll need to get started on making games by yourself!

It is recommended that you have an understanding of basic programming concepts before taking this course (like Scratch, for example), however, it is not required.

Registration

The course is capped at 5 participants in grades 6 or greater. The course will run from 7 to 9PM, Wednesdays, starting April 12, and will run for a total of 6 sessions. The total course costs $150.

Participants can bring their own laptop. The laptop needs to be running Linux, Windows, or MacOs. A mouse is also highly recommended. Laptops are available for those who do not have access to their own.
